Florence Scovel Shinn
Florence Scovel Shinn (1871-1940) was an American artist, author, and metaphysical teacher who is best known for her book "The Game of Life and How to Play It". She was a pioneer in the New Thought movement, which emphasized the power of the mind to create reality.
Shinn was born in Camden, New Jersey, and studied art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. She later moved to New York City, where she became a popular illustrator for magazines and newspapers.
