Genevieve Behrend
Geneviève Behrend (1881-1960) was a spiritual teacher and author who is best known for her association with the New Thought movement and her work on the power of visualization and positive thinking. Born in France, Behrend moved to the United States in her early twenties and began studying with Thomas Troward, a prominent New Thought philosopher and teacher.
Behrend's teachings were heavily influenced by Troward's philosophy of the creative power of thought. She emphasized the importance of developing a clear and specific mental image of one's desired outcomes, and using visualization and affirmation to bring those outcomes into reality. She believed that the power of thought was the most important factor in achieving success, and that by harnessing this power, individuals could transform their lives in profound ways.
Behrend's most famous work is "Your Invisible Power," a book published in 1921 that outlines her teachings on the creative power of thought and visualization. The book has since become a classic in the New Thought movement and has influenced many other spiritual teachers and authors. Behrend also taught courses and gave lectures on her teachings throughout her life, and continued to be an influential figure in the New Thought community until her death in 1960.
