William Walker Atkinson
William Walker Atkinson (1862–1932) was an
American writer, publisher, and New Thought spiritual teacher who authored
numerous books under various pseudonyms. He was a leading figure in the New
Thought movement and is best known for his works on self-improvement, including
"The Secret of Mental Magic," "Thought Vibration," and
"The Law of the New Thought."
Atkinson believed in the power of the mind
to create reality and achieve success, and he wrote extensively on the
principles of the law of attraction and the power of positive thinking. He also
explored topics such as spiritualism, yoga, and theosophy.
One of Atkinson's most popular works was
"The Kybalion," which he published under the pseudonym "The
Three Initiates." The book explores the principles of hermetic philosophy
and is considered a seminal work in the New Thought movement.
Atkinson was also a prolific publisher,
founding his own publishing company, the Yogi Publication Society, which
produced many books on New Thought, yoga, and spiritualism.
Although Atkinson's ideas and writings were
popular during his lifetime, his works fell into obscurity for several decades
after his death. However, in recent years, there has been a resurgence of
interest in his teachings, particularly among those interested in the law of
attraction and the power of the mind.
